Here are the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about our Newcastle car rental services.What do you include with my car rental in Newcastle?
The rate that you are charged will, in most cases, include insurance to cover you against damage to or theft of the vehicle, damage to other vehicles and property and personal liability if you are involved in an accident. We also include any charges from suppliers at premium car hire locations like airports. VAT and all other local taxes are included within the price along with breakdown cover and unlimited mileage. It is important that you check your desired vehicle type at time of booking because what is included does vary between suppliers and different vehicle categories. Excesses will apply to the insurance and you will be able to see exactly what is included within your price before you make a reservation in the booking engine.
What kinds of car can you provide?

What age do I need to be to hire a car in Newcastle?
You must be a minimum of 21 years old. Some car categories can only be driven by those who are aged over 23 and those who are aged over 25. At certain rental locations, a young driver fee may be applied to drivers who are aged between 21 and 24 years old (this is usually £10 per day), this is noted during the booking process and is normally payable when you pick up the car.
Where should I pick up and drop off my car?
We can provide car rental at a range of different locations around Newcastle and the Tyne and Wear area. The details of where you can pick up and drop off your car can be seen during the booking process and will also be noted on your car hire voucher once your booking has been made. To make things easier, our booking system will let you filter out any vehicles from hire locations that you don't want to use.
Who provides your vehicles?
We work with respected car rental companies in Newcastle including Alamo, Avis, Hertz, Thrifty and others to offer guaranteed rental car availability and provide the best possible range of car sizes and specifications. Vehicle brands include Chevrolet, Ford, Mercedes Benz, Peugeot, Vauxhall and Volkswagen amongst others.
What are your opening hours?
Opening hours are set by each individual car hire location. You will be able to see the opening hours of your chosen location whilst using the booking engine or on your car hire voucher after you have made a reservation.
When do you take my payment?
We normally take a small deposit (around 15% but the exact amount will be shown during the booking process) from your credit or debit card when you make a reservation. The remaining balance will be payable by credit or debit card on collection of the car, directly to your chosen hire location.
What do I need to bring with me when I collect my car?
When renting a car you will need to bring your full driving licence (both photocard and paper section if you have one of the new style licences) along with at least two forms of identification which have to show your current address and one other form of photographic identification (example - two energy bills and your passport). You will also need to bring a valid credit or debit card which will be used to pay for and take a deposit for the car when you come to pick it up.
Is it possible to add an additional driver to my car?
Yes, you can have a maximum of 4 additional drivers listed on your car. In most cases there will be a surcharge for this and it is usually payable at the rental desk. If you forgot to add an additional driver when you made your reservation, don't worry as you will be able to add the driver on to the vehicle at the rental desk. Additional drivers should bring the same documents with them as the main driver (see above).
Can I rent a sat nav system with my car rental?
You can rent a sat nav system with your car rental. You can choose this option during the booking process or add it to your car hire at the rental desk (we always recommend you choose this option when you book the car as satellite navigation is always subject to availability).
I am renting a car for business purposes, can you provide a VAT invoice?
Yes, you will be provided with a full VAT invoice/receipt at the rental desk when you pick up your rental vehicle.
